Nomination papers for the November 3, 2026, Municipal Election will be available beginning Thursday, July 23, 2026, from the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall.

The following positions are up for election:

City Council

  • Two (2) seats
  • Three-year terms

Ellsworth Public Library Board of Trustees

  • Two (2) three-year terms
  • Two (2) two-year terms

Ellsworth School Board

  • Two (2) seats
  • Three-year terms

Candidates must collect signatures from at least 50 registered Ellsworth voters to qualify for the ballot. Completed nomination papers must be returned to the City Clerk’s Office no later than 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026. Prospective candidates are encouraged to review the City Charter to become familiar with the responsibilities and election process. Copies are available on the City’s website or at the City Clerk’s Office.
