Following today’s emergency water main repair on Lower Grant Street, the City of Ellsworth Water Department has issued a Boil Water Order for customers in the affected area as a precautionary measure.

The Boil Water Order applies to:

  • Grant Street
  • Liberty Street
  • Chapel Street
  • Willow Street
  • Youngs Avenue

Residents and businesses in the affected area are asked to boil all water for at least five minutes before:

  • Drinking
  • Making ice
  • Washing fruits and vegetables
  • Brushing teeth
  • Any other activity involving the consumption of water

The Boil Water Order will remain in effect until further notice. The City will notify affected customers as soon as water quality testing confirms the water is safe to use without boiling.
