We know the continued closure of Bridge Hill is frustrating and has a significant impact on residents, businesses and everyone who travels through this area.
The water main break on Bridge Hill has been repaired (thanks to our incredible City Crews).
However, the break caused damage to the roadway, and the affected section of Bridge Hill is not currently safe for traffic. For that reason, the traffic diversion must remain in place.
City crews are actively coordinating with MaineDOT on the roadway repairs and the next steps needed to safely reopen Bridge Hill. We will share a repair schedule as soon as we have confirmed information to provide.
Our crews are acutely aware of the disruption this closure is causing. They live and work in this community, too, and they want to see Bridge Hill safely reopened as quickly as possible.
We understand that delays and detours are frustrating.
We also ask for patience and respect for the City employees and partners working to resolve this situation. They are doing their best to move this work forward safely and responsibly.
We don’t want to give the community a reopening date until we have one we can confidently stand behind.
As soon as we have concrete information about the repair schedule, we will share it.
Until then, traffic will continue to be diverted. Please avoid the area when possible and allow additional travel time.
Thank you for your continued patience as we work to get Bridge Hill safely reopened.
Road closed between the black lines.
