The City of Ellsworth Maine has an opening for an Assistant Deputy Treasurer within the Finance Office. Desired qualifications include graduation from an accredited two-year college or university with a degree in accounting, business management or a closely related field, or four (4) years of increasingly responsible related experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required and the ability to provide a high level of customer service. A Working knowledge of governmental accounting principles and practices is preferred.

The Assistant Deputy Treasurer oversees and assists in preparation and issuance of annual 1099s, contributes to the maintenance of vendor records and W-9s, assists in preparation of daily bank deposits, codes receipts, reconciles daily cash, and keeps such records as needed to verify cash balances, serves as primary backup when the Assistant Deputy Treasurer is absent, maintains accounts receivable records and performs necessary follow-up on collections.
