City Engineer

The City of Ellsworth, one of Maine’s fastest growing communities, is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of City Engineer/Project Manager.

The City Engineer/Project Manager requires a high degree of technical knowledge and ability in applying principles of engineering and in coordinating efforts to assist in proper development and infrastructure design. Responsibilities include the review of engineering design plans and specifications to determine compliance with City Ordinances and other applicable regulations, coordination of plan review with other City departments, design and maintenance of municipal infrastructure, coordination with other public agencies, contractors, consultants, business owners, and developers.

The ideal candidate will have experience in storm water management, drinking water, wastewater treatment, road asset management, and MDOT knowledge for design work with local agency projects. Desired qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience. Certification as a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Maine is required.
