Job Title: Truck Driver

Reports To: Highway Superintendent
Job Summary:
The City of Ellsworth is currently accepting applications for a full-time Truck Driver/Laborer to join our Public Works team. We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and safety-minded individual to assist in maintaining and improving the City’s infrastructure throughout the year. Primary responsibilities include winter snowplowing, summer road maintenance, and assisting with general public works projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate trucks and related vehicles for transporting materials and performing City maintenance work.
- Perform winter snowplowing and sanding on roads, sidewalks, and City properties—often during early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Assist with summer roadwork, including patching, ditching, sweeping, and storm drain maintenance.
- Perform manual labor tasks such as raking, shoveling, brush clearing, and basic construction or repair duties.
- Conduct routine vehicle checks and report maintenance needs.
- Follow all City safety protocols and Public Works operational procedures.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with no infractions or violations.
- CDL positions are subject to a pre-employment drug screening in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
Salary:
$57,600-$60,200. The City of Ellsworth offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees in both their professional and personal lives.
