Extended Registrar of Voters Office Hours

The City of Ellsworth Registrar of Voters will be in session from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on October 30, 2020 in preparation for the November 3, 2020 State of Maine General Election and City of Ellsworth Municipal Election. Sample ballots for both elections can be viewed at

Ellsworth and Fletchers Landing Township residents are encouraged to absentee vote, register to vote, and make name/address corrections to their current registrations during this time.

On October 30, 2020 from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM absentee ballots may be voted in the Clerk’s presence only without a special circumstance.

On November 2, 2020 and November 3, 2020 absentee ballots may only be issued with a Special Circumstances request form.

The “special circumstances” are:

  • An unexpected absence from the municipality during the entire time the polls are open on Election Day (7:00 AM – 8:00 PM)
  • A physical disability
  • An inability to travel to the polls because the voter is a resident of a coastal island ward or precinct
  • An incapacity or illness that has resulted in the voter being unable to leave home or a treatment facility.

As stated in (Title 21-A §753-B.2) and amended by the Governor’s Order #8FY20/21, dated August 26, 2020.

There will be a Registrar of Voters at the following Ellsworth polling locations on November 3, 2020 from 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM.

** Please note: Ward Two/Fletcher’s Landing voters wishing to vote in person on November 3, will vote at 4 Old Mill Road (Your Place Community Center), this has been changed from 283 State Street, Church of Christ.
