10:55 AM, 5/10/25 Update – The Boil Water Order is lifted for the affected area. The testing results have passed . If you have any questions please refer the original boil water notice.

3:50 PM, 5/8/25 Update – The Boil Water Order will remain in effect for the area detailed below. Sampling will be done again with results expected in the next 24 hours.

BOIL WATER ORDER 

Due to the possibility of unsafe water while repairing a broken water main, ELLSWORTH WATER DEPARTMENT consumers, on the streets listed below, are directed to BOIL ALL WATER  for at least 5 minutes before drinking, making ice cubes, washing foods, brushing teeth or in any other activity involving consumption of water.  This order shall remain in effect until further notice!

What is a Boil Water Order?

Previous updates:

3 PM, Update – The Water Department is in the process of restoring service, and water should be returned to Fairgrounds to BLC Drive including Maddocks. The remaining streets are in progress of being restored. The boil water order is still in effect for the area in the notice below.

Samples of the water will be taken in the morning (5/7) and sent for water testing. It takes approximately 24 hours for results to come back. At that time an update on the boil water order will be made.

11:30 AM, Update 5/6/25 – The Water Department is now estimating the water repair to be completed around 2 p.m. Boil Water Order is still in effect. We will update when the order is lifted.

8:50 AM Update, 5/6/25 – The ESTIMATED time of water restoration for the affected area is 11 a.m.

11:53 PM Update – The repair on the initial leak has been completed. However, the department is still working on a separate leak affecting Maddocks Ave. Residents on Maddocks may continue to experience disrupted water service. The boil water order remains in effect for the streets listed in the original notice.
