If you’ve noticed crews working around town replacing streetlights, you’re not imagining things—great progress is being made!

As part of the City’s streetlight replacement project, 222 of Ellsworth’s 507 streetlights have already been upgraded, bringing brighter, more energy-efficient lighting to neighborhoods throughout the community.

Here’s where the project stands today:

💡 Crews have completed much of the work along the north side of Main Street, with the exception of some major roadways, including Outer State Street and Bangor Road.

💡 They are currently working their way up Bridge Hill on the Bucksport Road side.

💡 Most standard streetlights are expected to be replaced by the end of this month. A small number of flood lights will be completed later as the City waits for additional parts to arrive.

We know many residents have been watching the progress … and asking about it! Thank you for your patience as crews continue moving through the city.

Every new fixture brings us one step closer to brighter streets, improved visibility, and more energy-efficient lighting throughout Ellsworth.

We’ll continue to share updates as the project moves toward completion.
