A scheduled closure of Red Bridge Road will occur from July 22, 2024, through September 20, 2024, pending project timelines. This closure is necessary to facilitate the removal and replacement of a deteriorated pipe arch structure located approximately 1573 feet north from the intersection of Mill Dam Road, and 882 feet south from Alder Brook Way.

During this period, Red Bridge Road will be restricted to local traffic only, with access granted solely to residents within the work zone and authorized construction vehicles. The closure will encompass the section of Red Bridge Road that spans Branch Lake Stream, necessitating a complete shutdown of traffic at this culvert.

Funding for this critical infrastructure project is provided in part by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Stream Crossing grant, reflecting a collaborative effort to enhance our community’s infrastructure resilience.

The City of Ellsworth appreciates the public’s cooperation and understanding during this period of necessary maintenance and improvement. Regular updates and any changes to the project schedule will be communicated through local media channels and the city’s official communication platforms.
