Calling area contractors — a new City of Ellsworth bid opportunity is now open!

The City of Ellsworth is seeking unit-price bids for the Local Roads and Sidewalks 2026 project, a coordinated package of road reconstruction, reclamation, paving and sidewalk improvements at several locations throughout the City.

The project includes work on:

  • Maple Street to Laurel Street — roadway reconstruction
  • Gary Moore Road — approximately 2,330 linear feet, with reclamation and full-reconstruction options
  • McKenzie Avenue — reclamation from Main Street to Union Street
  • Red Bridge Road — reclamation from Cushman Road to Saunders Road
  • High Street — sidewalk improvements

Work may include roadway reconstruction, reclamation, grading, paving, traffic control, restoration and sidewalk improvements as detailed in the solicitation.

Important Dates for Contractors

Project released: September 2, 2026
Non-mandatory pre-bid meeting: September 8, 2026 at 9 a.m., Ellsworth City Hall Council Chambers
Questions due: September 10, 2026 at 10 a.m.
City responses to questions: September 14, 2026 by 4 p.m.
Bid submission deadline: September 16, 2026 at 10 a.m.

Bids must be submitted electronically through the City of Ellsworth Procurement Portal by the deadline.
