We have an important clarification to yesterday’s update (Tuesday, Sept 1, 2026). Yep, it’s good news!
ALL recycling is once again being accepted at the Ellsworth Transfer Station Recycling Center.
Yesterday, we shared that cardboard recycling had resumed following the temporary shutdown caused by problems with the facility’s baler. We should have been clearer: the Recycling Center has reopened for all of its regular recyclable materials … not just cardboard. Sorry for the confusion!
Our Transfer Station team is now working through the backlog that accumulated while the Recycling Center was closed, so things may be a little busier than usual for a while. We ask residents to please be patient with our team as they work to process the additional material and get everything caught up.
Thank you for holding onto your recyclables, thank you for your patience during the interruption … and mostly thank you for recycling! ♻️
