City of Ellsworth Invites Volunteers to Help Plant Trees and Shrubs This October 2026

Community planting events at Union River Estates and Harbor Park are part of a three-year effort to grow and enhance Ellsworth’s green spaces.

ELLSWORTH, MAINE —The City of Ellsworth’s Arbor Commission, in partnership with the City’s Parks and Recreation Department, invites community members to roll up their sleeves and help make Ellsworth a little greener this fall.

Two volunteer planting events are planned for October, offering residents an opportunity to help plant trees and shrubs, remove invasive species, and care for some of Ellsworth’s public spaces. The events are part of a three-year tree planting initiative supported by $193,000 in grant funding secured by the Arbor Commission in 2024.
