Today, the Ellsworth Police Department celebrated Raleigh “Fred” Ehrlenbach’s remarkable 45 years of service. An Ellsworth native, Fred began his career in 1979, working patrols and filling in as a dispatcher. He fondly recalled witnessing the department’s significant transition from typewriters to computers. His colleagues shared how Fred has dedicated himself to community and his son remarked that the community also gave back to their family.
Although officially retired, Fred remains deeply committed to serving the surrounding communities. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Town of Trenton Selectmen, is a member of Ellsworth’s Harbor Commission, serves on the advisory board of Acadia National Park, and was formerly on Woodlawn’s board. The City of Ellsworth extends its heartfelt thanks to Fred for his years of dedicated service and encourages everyone to congratulate him on his well-deserved retirement.
