City of Ellsworth Outdoor Recreation Fair

ELLSWORTH, MaineThe City of Ellsworth is excited to host its inaugural Outdoor Recreation Fair at the Union River
Center for Innovation, located at 415 Water Street in Ellsworth, this coming Saturday, June 8
th, from 10am to 3pm. The
fair includes FREE outdoor gear repair by Maine Gear Share, kayaking demonstrations by Pinniped Kayak, opportunities
to learn about trails and outdoor activities in and around Ellsworth, and a chance to win a Sunrise Trail ATV by entering
their raffle.

Attendees can drop off their outdoor gear in need of repair, then enjoy the event while Maine Gear Share gives your
gear new life. Please keep in mind that items to be repaired must be clean. Common repair types include stuck zippers,
rips in nylon, holes in puffy coats, broken buckles/straps, seam issues, and more. Some hard goods like stoves and tents
can be fixed too. If you aren’t sure, bring it along and Maine Gear Share will take a look!

This event coincides with the start of Love Maine Trails Month (LMTM), so if you’re a newcomer to the area, an
experienced hiker looking for new trail systems to conquer, or are just starting out hiking and want to know about local
resources, come on out to learn more! If water resources peak your interest, the event will take place on the banks of
the Union River, adjacent to Harbor Park. Information on public access to Ellsworth’s lakes and rivers will be available at
the event. Ellsworth’s outdoor recreation opportunities are plentiful and are sure to appease all types of outdoor
recreation enthusiasts from all different age groups.

We want to thank and recognize our event sponsors, local businesses who champion outdoor recreation: Pinniped
Kayak, Zeppa’s Pizza, Fogtown Brewing Company, Friend & Friend, and Trio. Acknowledgement to the City’s Recreation
Commission for their support.
