City of Ellsworth Seeking Input on Business Attraction Plan Final Draft

For IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 9, 2024

ELLSWORTH, Maine — The City’s Economic Development Department and the Ellsworth Business Development Corporation invite Ellsworth’s businesses and residents to review and comment on the final draft of the City’s updated Business Attraction Plan.

A Business Attraction Plan Steering Committee was assembled to help guide the development of the plan.  Local businesses, community stakeholders, and government leaders were interviewed and consulted during the planning process, which took place between April and November 2023.  The Business Attraction Plan has two central purposes: (1) to provide the City with a new economic development vision statement and recommendations for targeted business sectors, and (2) to provide the City with concrete implementation steps that will help create the conditions for economic growth and prosperity.

A digital copy of the Plan is located on the City’s website here.

If preferred, a hard copy of the Plan is available for review at Ellsworth City Hall, in the Economic Development Department office.  Hard copies can also be made available for pick-up upon request.

A public workshop with the Business Attraction Plan Steering Committee, City Council, and Ellsworth Business Development Corporation will take place on Monday, January 29th, at 6pm, at Ellsworth City Hall in the Council Chambers.  Please feel free to attend the workshop to listen to a brief presentation on the Plan, as well as to engage in discussion and provide comment.  Written comments can be submitted in-person at City Hall; mailed to 1 City Hall Plaza, Economic Development Department, Ellsworth, ME 04605; or emailed to jrichards@ellsworthmaine.gov.  Please submit comments no later than 5pm on Monday, January 29th.
