A significant piece of infrastructure is moving forward in Ellsworth.
The City of Ellsworth has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for construction of the Merrill Lane Extension, a project that will complete approximately 1,225 linear feet of Merrill Lane from its connection with High Street to the area of the proposed courthouse complex.
The project will transform the existing gravel construction access into a finished municipal roadway, including stormwater infrastructure, sanitary sewer, water, electrical and communications utilities, lighting, and roadside improvements.
Clearing and grubbing for the project have already been completed, and a gravel access road is currently in place.
Project Timeline
The RFP was released August 10, 2026. A non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting will be held at Merrill Lane on Monday, August 17 at 10 a.m.
Questions must be submitted by August 20 at 4:30 pm, with proposals due September 3 at 4:00 pm. Contractor selection is anticipated for September 22.
Interested contractors can review the complete RFP, project requirements and submission information through the City of Ellsworth’s OpenGov Procurement Portal.
