Good news, Ellsworth! The Boil Water Order has been lifted.
As of Thursday, August 13, 2026, the Ellsworth Water Department has lifted the Boil Water Order that had been in effect for portions of the City following the Bridge Hill water main break.
The order is no longer in effect for customers on:
- Grant Street
- Liberty Street
- Chapel Street
- Willow Street
- Youngs Avenue
- Bucksport Road — from Court Street to Chapel Street
- Laurel Street
- Upper South Street
- Maple Street
Residents and businesses in these areas no longer need to boil their water before drinking, cooking, brushing teeth or other normal uses.
Thank you to our residents and businesses for your patience and cooperation over the past few days — and thank you to the City crews who have been working hard to respond to the water main break and its impacts.
