Maine Traffic Advisory: Bay Crane Northeast to Transport Oversized Load from Hermon to Eastbrook on Tuesday, January 6
Engineered transport begins at 8 p.m., with increased traffic expected along the route; total distance is 49 miles
Smithfield, RI — Today, Bay Crane Northeast — part of Bay Crane Companies, the leader in specialized transportation and logistics planning for heavy hauling solutions in New York and New England — announced that it has been contracted to haul an oversized load in Maine from 601 Coldbrook Road in Hermon to 897 Sugar Hill Road in Eastbrook on Tuesday, January 6 at 8 p.m. Bay Crane’s total transport distance will be 49 miles, with increased traffic expected along a route that includes highways and secondary roads.
The estimated transport time is 4-5 hrs., with the load traveling at 25-30 mph. The transport vehicle dimensions span over 141 feet in length and 10 feet in width, weighing 415,000 pounds in total.
The entire transport route is as follows:
- Start: 601 Coldbrook Road, Hermon, ME 04401
- Turn left onto Coldbrook Road
- Turn left onto Odlin Road
- Turn right onto Perry Road
- Turn left onto US-202 E
- Take the I-395 E/US-202 E ramp to Bangor/Brewer
- Merge onto I-395 E
- Exit onto US-1A E/Wilson Street and continue to follow US-1A E
- Turn left onto ME-179 N/North Street and continue to follow ME-179 N
- Turn right onto ME-200 S
- Turn left onto Molasses Pond Road/Sugar Hill Road
- End: 897 Sugar Hill Road, Franklin (Eastbrook), ME 04634
