We’re thrilled to share Rescue 1, a Type 1 2020 Ford F450 Braun Chief XL ambulance!
On August 4th, the Ellsworth Fire Department was granted a license from the State of Maine Emergency Medical Services Office to transport patients at the Basic EMT level, with permission to provide Advance EMT level care. At the same time, a Maine EMS vehicle license was issued authorizing Rescue 1 as a transport ambulance. On the August 21st City Council Meeting the councilors voted unanimously to approve the request to begin as a transport service in Ellsworth.
Acquiring a City owned and operated ambulance is a major milestone that will allow us to better serve our community with top-notch medical assistance. The journey to this achievement was a team effort, and we could not be prouder of our dedicated firefighters.
