Municipal School Budget Validation and Special Referendum Election June 29, 2023

 Absentee Ballots are available in the City Clerk’s Office at Ellsworth City Hall for City of Ellsworth voters beginning on May 16, 2023

All Absentee Ballot requests submitted by telephone or written application must be received by the Municipal Clerk before the close of business on MONDAY, JUNE 26, 2023, to request an absentee ballot and take it out of City Hall to vote without a special circumstance.

On TUESDAY, JUNE 27 THRU THURSDAY, JUNE 29 absentee ballots may only be issued with a Special Circumstances request form.

The “special circumstances” are:   

  • An unexpected absence from the municipality during the entire time the polls are open on Election Day (8:00 AM – 8:00 PM);
  • A physical disability;
  • An inability to travel to the polls because the voter is a resident of a coastal island ward or precinct;
  • An incapacity or illness that has resulted in the voter being unable to leave home or a treatment facility.

All four Ellsworth Polling places will be open for voting on JUNE 29, 2023 from 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM.
