Frenchman Bay Regional Shellfish Conservation Ordinance
Resident commercial shellfish licenses will be on sale beginning Monday June 17, 2019 at the Ellsworth City Clerks Office at 1 City Hall Plaza, Ellsworth, Maine. These licenses will be sold to residents of Trenton, Hancock, Sullivan, Franklin, Sorrento, Lamoine and Ellsworth on an unlimited basis.
Non-resident commercial license holders who currently hold a Frenchman Bay Regional Shellfish Conservation shellfish license must renew their license before July 1, 2019 or they are disqualified, lose seniority, and are ineligible until the 2020 drawing. Any non-resident commercial shellfish harvesting licenses that are not renewed between June 17, 2019 and June 30, 2019 will be offered for sale to a person on the waiting list only when the number of those licenses is less than 10% of the resident commercial licenses issued, consistent with the Frenchman Bay Regional Shellfish Program 2019 License Sales and Lottery Procedure.
Applications for the 2019 non-resident commercial license lottery must be received by the Administrative Municipality (City of Ellsworth) no later than 5 PM on June 1, 2019. Postmarks will not be accepted. The lottery will be held on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Ellsworth City Hall.
