The Ellsworth Historic Preservation Commission seeks engaged, committed and community minded individuals to fill one full-member position and two alternate positions. These are volunteer positions. This commission advocates for the preservation, protection, and enhancement of buildings and places or areas within the City, which possess particular historic or architectural significance in order to promote the educational, cultural and economic welfare of the residents and visitors of the City.
Prospective candidates must be Ellsworth residents or property owners. The commission meets monthly on an as needed basis. Each commission member is encouraged to attend one informational/educational meeting per year, sponsored by the Maine Historic Preservation Commission (MHPC) or other historic preservation organization. Interested applicants should demonstrate interest, ability, experience and desire to promote historic preservation in the City of Ellsworth.
- Member position (1): Current term expires on June 30, 2018 with the possibility for reappointment, at that point it will be a three year term, July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2021.
- Alternate positions (2): New appointment terms expire on June 30, 2018 with the possibility for reappointment, at that point it will be a one year term, July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019.
