Shore Road Closure

8/9/2022 8:16AM: Due to a failed culvert, Shore Road will be CLOSED to through traffic from Pond Ave to Forrest Ave while public works crews work to replace it. This is in the vicinity of the Ellsworth Elementary Middle School. We estimate the road will be closed for the next day or two.

The regular meeting of the Ellsworth Planning Board will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at 5:30 PM in the Council Chamber at City Hall. Pursuant to 1 M.R.S. § 403-B, the Planning Board has adopted a policy governing remote participation in its proceedings. In the event that public participation through remote methods (ZOOM) is permitted, additional information about accessing the meeting remotely will be posted at www.ellsworthmaine.gov and on the City of Ellsworth Facebook page by noon on the day of the meeting. The proposal is to create an 11-lot major subdivision. The subject property is an approximately 27-acre lot (Tax Map 107, Lot 17), located on Garland Road/Jesse’s Beach Way in the Rural (R) and Limited Residential Shoreland (LR) Zoning Districts.

4. Preliminary Plan Review for a Major Use Site Development and Major Subdivision entitled Branch Pond, LLC for Applicant/Owner Branch Pond, LLC. The proposal is to construct a multifamily dwelling containing 75 dwelling units. The subject property is a 2.6-acre lot located at 377 High Street (Tax Map 16, Lot 16) in the Commercial (C) Zoning District.

5. Sketch Plan Review for a Major Use Site Development entitled Timberland Acres Downeast for Applicant Colton Sanborn and Owner Timberland Acres Downeast, LLC. The proposal is to expand an existing campground onto adjacent property by developing 121 recreational vehicle sites. The subject property is a 39.3-acre lot (Tax Map 6, Lot 7) located off of Bar Harbor Road in the Rural (R) Zoning District.
