What a way to end a summer of music in downtown Ellsworth! Our final Downtown Summer Concert on Thursday, October 1, 2026, turned the Franklin Street Parklet into a dance floor as Alice Slater & Friends led us through an evening of contra and barn dancing.
And what fun we had! There was plenty of laughing, lots of dancing, a little confusion over our lefts and rights — and absolutely no requirement that anyone know what they were doing before joining in! Alice and the band were outstanding, the weather was perfect, and the smiles said everything.
It was exactly the kind of warm, happy community gathering we hoped would bring this summer series to a close.
Thank You for a Wonderful Summer, Ellsworth!
This concert series simply would not have happened without a lot of people working together. A huge thank-you to Black Moon Public House for its partnership throughout the series and to Wallace Events for helping us create the space where these evenings could happen.
We are also incredibly grateful to all of the businesses and organizations that sponsored concerts and supported the series this summer: Camden National Bank, Maine Community Foundation, Next Generation Dance Alliance, Momo’s Cheesecakes, Vinyl Vogue, Fogtown Brewing Company, The Jackson Laboratory and Maine Tractor Company – Ellsworth Equipment.
And then there is our City of Ellsworth Parks & Recreation team — truly the beating heart of this concert series. From the work everyone saw to all the work that happened behind the scenes, thank you for helping create something really special in downtown Ellsworth.
Most of all, thank YOU, Ellsworth.
Thank you to everyone who came downtown this summer. Thank you for listening, dancing, bringing your families and friends, supporting our downtown businesses and simply spending time together.
Last night, watching people laugh their way through the dances under the lights, felt like a pretty perfect reminder of what this series was all about.
Live music. Downtown Ellsworth. And community. ❤️
We’ll miss these Thursday nights! Check out some photos from last night:
