Our City of Ellsworth Public Works crews will be hard at work next week, with projects planned on Christian Ridge Road, near the Union River Bridge downtown and on Church Street.
If you’re traveling through these areas Tuesday or Wednesday, here’s what you need to know:
🚧 Tuesday, September 15, 2026 — Christian Ridge Road
Beginning at approximately 7:30 a.m., crews will be replacing a cross culvert near 425 Christian Ridge Road. Traffic will be reduced to alternating one-way traffic for much of the day. Please use caution, watch for crews and flaggers, or avoid the area if you can.
🚧 Wednesday, September 16, 2026 — Near Union River Bridge
Our crews are getting an early start on this one! Beginning at 4 a.m., Public Works will reinstall a fire hydrant just before the Union River Bridge on the City side of downtown. The three-lane section of roadway will temporarily be reduced to two lanes — one in each direction while crews work. This project is not expected to take long, and we appreciate our Public Works team getting started before sunrise to help minimize impacts during the morning commute.
🚧 Wednesday, September 16, 2026 — Church Street
Beginning at approximately 7:30 a.m., Church Street will be CLOSED between Spring Street and Bayview Avenue for the day while crews repair a catch basin and complete related work in the area. Please plan to avoid this section of Church Street if possible and use an alternate route.
Thank you for slowing down, giving our crews room to work and being patient while they make these important repairs.
