Share your thoughts on Ellsworth’s draft vision statement
The City of Ellsworth Planning Department, Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee, and BerryDunn have launched a survey to collect feedback on the draft vision statement and guiding principles for the Comprehensive Plan Update. The survey can be accessed via the project’s interactive, Social Pinpoint website: https://berrydunn.mysocialpinpoint.com/ellsworth
The vision statement and guiding principles will direct goals and priorities for the City’s future land use, capital planning, and policy decisions.
A vision statement focuses on shared community values, illustrates a sense of identity, and is aspirational in nature. Vision statements also depict an ideal future and qualities of the community, including physical, environmental, and social attributes.
The vision statement and guiding principles were developed based on survey results and feedback collected through public forums, events, subcommittee meetings, and the project’s Social Pinpoint website.
The new Comprehensive Plan will guide future growth and policy decisions for the City over the next decade. By adopting a comprehensive plan that is in compliance with Maine’s Growth Management Act, the City will also be eligible for certain state-level funding.
Additional information on the planning process can be found on the City’s Comprehensive Plan landing page: www.ellsworthmaine.gov/compplan2035 or on the project’s Social Pinpoint website, where the survey is hosted: tinyurl.com/Ellsworth2035
