Stabilization Program Repealed
The Stabilization Program has been repealed. State of Maine Legislators determined they could not continue funding this property tax relief program for seniors.
Applications submitted last year will receive this year’s “freeze”. However, because this Stabilization Program is now discontinued, future tax bills will not be frozen.
To help make up for this repeal of the Stabilization Program, the State of Maine Legislature expanded two other property tax relief programs. The Property Tax Fairness Credit and the Senior Property Tax Deferral program.
