We had a great turnout and beautiful weather Saturday for the annual Card Brook Cleanup! About 35 volunteers, including these University of Maine at Augusta students and their mascot, Augustus, joined us on Saturday morning to clear the banks of litter large and small.
Trash removed this year totaled 400 pounds, not including a tire and this rusty old culvert, pictured in 2014. This culvert was perched in the brook for many years and finally removed this spring thanks to volunteer Bill Nelson and Jim’s Used Cars & Auto Repair on Foster Street.
