Sometimes, the best news is the kind that ends quietly.
Recently, a brush fire on an island in Ellsworth was quickly brought under control thanks to the fast response and professionalism of the Ellsworth Fire Department and the agencies that assisted. Because of their swift action, the fire was extinguished before it could grow into something more serious.
While many of us went about our day, firefighters were working in challenging conditions to protect our community, our natural spaces, and nearby property. We’re incredibly grateful for the dedication of our firefighters and the teamwork of everyone involved in the response. Their commitment, training, and willingness to answer the call, day or night, is something our community can be proud of.
