After a summer filled with music, community and great memories, the Franklin Street Parklet is wrapping up another chapter in downtown Ellsworth!
Beginning Friday, November 6, 2026, the City of Ellsworth’s Parks and Recreation team will begin dismantling the Franklin Street Parklet and preparing the area to reopen to vehicle traffic and parking.
Weather and work conditions permitting, Franklin Street is expected to reopen by the weekend of November 7–8, 2026, restoring vehicle access from Main Street to Store Street and making the parking spaces available once again.
What a Summer It Was!
The Franklin Street Parklet became a gathering place for residents and visitors throughout the summer, bringing music, laughter, dancing and a wonderful sense of community to the heart of downtown. Our 11-concert Downtown Summer Concert Series was a highlight of the season, featuring talented musicians, enthusiastic crowds and plenty of memorable moments. From those who brought their lawn chairs to those who couldn’t resist getting up to dance, you helped make every concert special!
None of it would have been possible without the generosity and support of our community partners.
A special thank-you to Black Moon Public House and Wallace Events for their partnership throughout the season, and to the individual sponsors who stepped up to support each of our 11 concerts. Your investment helped make these free community events possible, and we are incredibly grateful.
A Big Round of Applause for Parks and Recreation!
We also want to give a HUGE thank-you to the City of Ellsworth Parks and Recreation team! From setting up the Parklet at the beginning of the season to maintaining the space throughout the summer and now taking everything down, this team has worked hard behind the scenes to make the experience welcoming, safe and enjoyable for everyone. Their dedication, creativity and hard work helped turn a stretch of Franklin Street into a lively community gathering space. We couldn’t have done it without them!
Until Next Time!
To everyone who attended a concert, supported a local business, danced in the street, brought family and friends, or simply stopped by to enjoy the atmosphere — thank you! As we return Franklin Street to its regular traffic and parking configuration, we’re grateful for the memories made and the community spirit that filled the Parklet all summer long.
Thank you for making downtown Ellsworth such a wonderful place to gather. We’ll see you downtown!
Traffic Reminder: Parklet breakdown begins Friday, November 6, 2026. Franklin Street is expected to reopen to traffic between Main Street and Store Street, with parking spaces restored, by November 7–8, 2026. Please use caution around City crews while work is underway.
