Here’s a heads-up about two areas where motorists can expect overnight traffic impacts as crews complete road repairs.
Monday, August 24, 2026 — Surry Road / Bridge Hill Area
Beginning at 10 p.m. Monday, August 24, traffic on Surry Road near its intersection with Bucksport Road will be reduced to alternating one-way traffic as work gets underway in connection with the Bridge Hill repairs.
Motorists traveling through the area should expect delays, use caution and watch for crews directing traffic.
This work is part of the ongoing Bridge Hill repair project following the recent water main break and resulting damage to the roadway.
Tuesday & Wednesday, August 25–26 — High Street
Beginning at 10 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, and again at 10 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, traffic on High Street near Pizza Hut will be reduced to one lane for northbound traffic heading toward Bar Harbor while crews work on the section of roadway impacted by the recent sinkhole.
Motorists should expect delays and use extra caution when traveling through the work zone.
A Little Planning Goes a Long Way
Both projects are scheduled during overnight hours to help reduce impacts during busier daytime travel.
If you’re traveling through either area while crews are working, please slow down, follow traffic control directions and give everyone working along the roadway plenty of room.
As always, schedules may be affected by weather or conditions crews encounter in the field.
Thank you for your patience as we work to get these repairs completed safely!
