Property Tax Bills Availability

2026 real estate and personal property tax bills are now available to view and pay online by visiting ellsworthmaine.gov/taxbills. September 2nd the tax bills were sent to our printer and are expected to be in the mail September 10th-12th.  This years first tax payment is due October 9th, 2025.

Questions:  For property value or exemption questions, contact the assessing office at:  667-8674.  For payment and remittance questions, contact the tax office at 669-6620.

Search Tip:  When searching for a property tax bill on our Government Window payment portal only accounts that have balances will appear.  For past account payment information please contact the tax office.

View Past Bills:  To view any tax bill from this year or previous years visit ellsworthmaine.gov/taxbills at the bottom of the page there is a section called Historical Property Tax Bills and Commitment Books.  Here you can view past years bills and commitment books. 

Payment Fees:  The City of Ellsworth has a payment policy that mailed or in-person checks and cash are free of fees. All Visa/Mastercard credit card transactions carry a 2.5% service fee. All American Express credit cards transactions carry a 3.0% service fee. Online check payments (eChecks) have a flat $2.50 per check fee.
