🎄Please join us at the City of Ellsworth’s annual Tree Lighting! 🎄This event takes place as part of Christmas in Ellsworth, a collaboration of businesses and organizations hosting and promoting holiday inspired events throughout the season in Ellsworth, Maine.
This year’s Tree Lighting will take place from 3pm-5pm in the City Hall Parking Lot and Franklin Street Parklet on Saturday November 25th. Family-friendly activities, including Letters to Santa and fun games, will take place from 3pm until the tree is ready to be lit at 5pm. Stay warm with hot cocoa, cookies, and fire pit tables. We will have a raffle drawing to choose a child to turn on the tree lights.
The 2023 Christmas tree is being sourced from Ellsworth resident Dale Sprowl, who graciously approached the City to offer a tree on his property as the official City Christmas Tree. James Zuhlke, from Zuhlke Tree Service, has generously donated the labor necessary to cut and move the tree from the Sprowl property to City Hall Plaza. R.F. Jordan supplied piping material for the tree base and the City’s Public Works Department worked extra hard this year installing the new, sturdy base for the tree.
Saturday November 25th also coincides with Small Business Saturday; a shopping day set aside for small local businesses, shops, restaurants, and organizations. Before or after the tree is lit, please consider shopping or dining with one or more of our small local businesses!
