About the Ellsworth & Hancock County Digital Equity and Inclusion Task Force
The City of Ellsworth’s Broadband Committee conducted a Strategic Plan, resulting in the identification of Digital Inclusion and Equity as a priority. Inspired by that plan, partnering organizations working in Ellsworth and the greater Hancock County area established the Ellsworth & Hancock County Digital Equity and Inclusion Task Force. The Task Force is a member of the Hancock & Waldo County Digital Inclusion Consortium, and is a collaboration between the Ellsworth Adult and Community Education Center, the City of Ellsworth, the Ellsworth Public Library, the Island Institute, the Hancock County Planning Commission, and the National Digital Equity Center. The primary focus of the Task Force is to ensure that everyone has access to affordable reliable broadband connectivity, affordable technology, and the information and education needed to get the most from the devices they choose to use.
