Join Ellsworth’s Parks and Recreation Department and Arbor Commission on November 12 and 13, 2025 as we continue our street tree planting initiative! We’ll meet behind Shaw’s at the Ellsworth Shopping Center, and you’re welcome to come and go anytime between 9 am and 3 pm. Our focus area for these two days will be along Washington Street.
Please wear sturdy shoes, work gloves, and warm clothing for a comfortable and safe experience. Volunteer tasks may include maneuvering wheelbarrows, spreading mulch, backfilling holes with soil, setting trees at the proper height, and removing burlap and wire cages from root balls.
This project, funded through a federal grant, supports tree planting along Washington Street and in areas near Ellsworth’s low-income housing units. Our goal is to expand the city’s tree canopy, enhance livability, and strengthen our natural environment.
