The Ellsworth Water Department would like to inform residents of a planned water service interruption on Thursday, November 20, 2025, due to necessary construction and repair work on the system.
This work will temporarily affect the entire public water system in Ellsworth.
What to Expect
The work will begin at 7 am, will be as brief as possible, and is expected to last through the morning. Many customers may experience low water pressure or no water at all. We kindly ask all water users to be conservative with water use during this period.
Information for Customers in the Red Circled Areas below
Residents in the circled areas of the two maps below will be completely without water during the repair. Once water service is restored, these circled areas will be under a boil-water order. Hand-delivered notices with full instructions will be provided directly to each affected household.
After Service Is Restored
It is possible you may see discolored water (yellow or brown). This is normal after system work. We recommend running your taps until the water runs clear.
How to Prepare
Please take a moment before Thursday morning to store any water you may need for drinking, cooking, or household tasks during the outage.
We understand that water disruptions are challenging, and we appreciate your patience as we complete this important work to maintain the safety and reliability of our system.
Keep an eye on our website or visit our Facebook page for updates.
If you have any questions, please contact the Ellsworth Water Department at 207-667-8632.
Thank you, Ellsworth Water Department
