MaineDOT Seeking Public Input on Proposed Main Street Bridge Improvements

The Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) is inviting the public to learn more about proposed improvements to the Main Street Bridge over the Union River and provide feedback during an upcoming online public meeting.

The proposed project involves the Main Street Bridge (Route 1/3) located just east of South Street. The City of Ellsworth is sharing this information on behalf of MaineDOT to help ensure residents, businesses, and anyone interested in the project have an opportunity to participate.

The meeting is available on demand, allowing participants to review the project information at their convenience and submit comments or questions directly to MaineDOT.

Public Comment Period
📅 July 27 – August 12, 2026

Questions and comments submitted through the online meeting will be answered by MaineDOT staff. Project-specific questions may also be directed to the MaineDOT Project Manager listed in the meeting materials.
