The break on Bridge Hill has been repaired. City crews are coordinating with Maine DOT for repairs on the section of Bridge Hill impacted by the water main break.

Motorists traveling from the Bucksport area toward Ellsworth are encouraged to use Christian Ridge Road as an alternate route and avoid Bridge Hill if possible.
Crews continue to work on the water main break, and repairs may take several days or longer to complete. Significant traffic impacts should be expected while this work continues.

The City of Ellsworth is responding to a water main break on Bridge Hill. Motorists should expect significant traffic delays and use caution in the area.
Traffic is currently being diverted to Court Street in both directions:
- Traffic traveling from Bucksport toward downtown Ellsworth is being diverted onto Court Street.
- Traffic traveling from downtown Ellsworth toward Bucksport is also being diverted onto Court Street.
Please avoid the area if possible and allow additional travel time if you need to travel through this part of the City.
Possible Water Impacts
Because this is an active water main break, some water customers may experience impacts to their water service. City crews are responding, and we will provide additional information about any water service issues as it becomes available.
