Good news from the Ellsworth Transfer Station: the Recycling Center is reopening for cardboard! ♻️📦
After a temporary pause caused by problems with the facility’s baler, the Transfer Station team is once again able to accept cardboard for recycling.
We know many residents have been patiently holding onto cardboard while the Recycling Center was unable to accept it — thank you!
Now comes the catch-up. Our team expects a significant backlog as residents begin bringing stored cardboard to the Transfer Station. Staff will be working hard to process the material and keep things moving, but we ask for a little extra patience as everyone catches up.
If you can, please continue to help by:
- Breaking down and flattening your cardboard before arriving.
- Making sure cardboard is clean and dry.
- Following staff directions when you arrive.
- Being patient if the Recycling Center is especially busy.
We know the interruption has been inconvenient, and we appreciate everyone who worked with us while the baler was out of service.
