A heads-up for Ellsworth motorists: MaineDOT will be conducting rumble strip work along approximately 14 miles of Route 1 in Ellsworth as part of a larger statewide safety project.
Work is anticipated to begin on or around September 10, 2026 and is weather-dependent. Motorists may encounter temporary lane closures, alternating one-way traffic, flaggers and short delays near active work areas.
Please slow down, stay alert and give crews plenty of room to work.
