Mark your calendars! Meet the Candidates returns Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at The Grand, giving Ellsworth residents an opportunity to hear directly from candidates seeking seats on the Ellsworth City Council. The annual nonpartisan forum will be moderated by Cyndi Wood, Managing Editor of The Ellsworth American, and will also be livestreamed and recorded on the City of Ellsworth’s YouTube channel for those who cannot attend in person.

New this year, the conversation expands with a second  gathering on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at the Ellsworth Public Library, where residents can meet candidates for the Ellsworth School Board and Ellsworth Public Library Board of Trustees. Additional details for that gathering will be announced as the event approaches.

A lot of work happens behind the scenes to make these opportunities available to the community. We appreciate Heart of Ellsworth for its leadership in organizing Meet the Candidates, The Ellsworth American for its partnership, and our amazing City team for providing technical support. A special thank-you to Nate Burckhard from the City’s IT Department for lending his expertise to help make the program accessible to residents both in person and online.
