Pardon our dust… Police K9 Taggart, or “Tag” for short, took an adventure to check on the progress of the new police facility and would like to share her review of the site.
Located at 416 High Street, the new facility is well underway in renovations. It is expected to be fully functional by October 2nd. It will feature efficient, safe work spaces, up to date emergency communications center for police and fire, a secure evidence storage area, with expanded locker room space and capacity for the departments staff. This work improves security, ensures structural resilience, and allows flexibility for future use and needs of the city’s Police Department.
The current area used by the Police Department in City Hall will be repurposed for the Fire Department administrative offices to relieve space constraints in the lower level of the City Hall building.
