Do you enjoy being outdoors? Love trees? Looking for a fun way to volunteer this summer?
The City of Ellsworth is looking for community volunteers to help with our Street Tree Inventory : an important project that will help us better understand, care for, and grow our urban forest for years to come.
Join us at City Hall on Wednesdays and Fridays, from July 15 through August 14, between 9:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
Volunteers will walk city streets using a smartphone or tablet to collect basic information about our street trees, including measurements and location. The information gathered will help guide future planting, maintenance, and long-term planning for Ellsworth’s urban forest.
No previous experience is needed … no worries, we’ll show you what to do!
Here’s what to bring:
🌳 Comfortable walking shoes
💧 Water
📱 A smartphone or tablet (if available)
📏 A measuring tape
☀️ Weather-appropriate clothing
Don’t have a smartphone? No problem! A pencil and clipboard will work just fine.
