The Ellsworth Historic Preservation Commission seeks engaged, committed and community minded individuals to fill two alternate positions. These are volunteer positions. This commission advocates for the preservation, protection, and enhancement of buildings and places or areas within the City, which possess particular historic or architectural significance in order to promote the educational, cultural and economic welfare of the residents and visitors of the City.
Prospective candidates must be Ellsworth residents or property owners. The commission meets monthly on an as needed basis. Each commission member is encouraged to attend one informational/educational meeting per year, sponsored by the Maine Historic Preservation Commission (MHPC) or other historic preservation organization. Interested applicants should demonstrate interest, ability, experience and desire to promote historic preservation in the City of Ellsworth.
Alternate positions (2): Alternates will be appointed by the City Council and will serve a one (1) year term based on a June 30 expiration date.
