Important Notice: Property Taxes Past Due
The City of Ellsworth is reminding residents and property owners that 2026 real estate and personal property taxes are now past due and are accruing interest.
In the coming week, the City will begin issuing lien notices for unpaid 2026 real estate taxes.
In addition, any unpaid 2025 real estate taxes are at risk of foreclosure in accordance with Maine law.
We understand that these notices can be difficult, and we encourage anyone with an outstanding balance to take action as soon as possible.
