Absentee Ballots are available in the City Clerk’s Office at Ellsworth City Hall for City of Ellsworth voters.
All Absentee Ballot requests submitted by telephone or written application must be received by the Municipal Clerk before the close of business on Thursday, June 3, 2021, to request an absentee ballot and take it out of City Hall to vote without a special circumstance.
On June 4, 2021 from 8 AM to 5:00 PM absentee ballots may be voted in the Clerk’s presence only without a special circumstance.
On June 7, 2021 and June 8, 2021 absentee ballots may only be issued with a Special Circumstances request form.
The “special circumstances” are:
- An unexpected absence from the municipality during the entire time the polls are open on Election Day (8:00 AM – 8:00 PM);
- A physical disability;
- An inability to travel to the polls because the voter is a resident of a coastal island ward or precinct;
- An incapacity or illness that has resulted in the voter being unable to leave home or a treatment facility.
As stated in (Title 21-A §753-B.2) and amended by the Governor’s Order #8FY20/21, dated August 26, 2020.
All four Ellsworth Polling places will be open for voting on June 8, 2021 from 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM.
Please note: Ward Two voters wishing to vote in person on June 8, 2021 will vote at 4 Old Mill Road (Your Place Community Center).
