The Ellsworth City Council will hold a public hearing on December 19, 2016, at 7:00 PM in the City Hall Council Chambers to hear comments on the proposed enactment of a Recreational Marijuana Prohibition Ordinance. The purpose of this ordinance is to impose a ban on the operation of Retail Marijuana Establishments and Retail Marijuana Social Clubs in the City of Ellsworth to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the people of Ellsworth. The ordinance is posted on the City of Ellsworth website and available during regular business hours at the City Clerk Office. All persons wishing to make comments or ask questions about the proposed ordinance are invited to attend the public hearing. Comments may also be submitted in writing any time prior to the public hearing. You may hand-deliver written comments to the Planning Office during regular business hours; mail them to Ellsworth Planning Department, One City Hall Plaza, Ellsworth, ME 04605, or; Email them to mgagnon@ellsworthmaine.gov.
