MEETING NOTICE

The regular monthly meeting of the Ellsworth Harbor Commission will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the Ellsworth City Hall Fire Department training room.

AGENDA

1. Call to Order.

2. Adoption of minutes from June 25, 2025, meeting.

3. Dredge update.

• The outer channel has been moved.
• Dredging update, disposal issue remains a problem
• Army Corps is still looking for solutions and has scheduled another meeting with the city for later this month.

4. Update from City Council
5. Harbor function issues

• It was discovered the base radio was dysfunctional, the antenna missing, and the mount broken. Apparently, this has been the situation for over a year.
• Staff had not been using their city provided emails/calendar
• Trash not picked up in the parking lot or around the trash bins
• We have been informed that the Acting HM is restricted to no more than 4 hours a week to work on Harbor functions.

Action taken:

• DCM Sara was able to authorize Todd to purchase and install new radio equipment,
• The IT Department has gotten staff emails/calendars up and running.
• Staff have been instructed to address trash as much as possible
• The Acting HM’s time restrictions have been reported to city Hall.

6. Topic for discussion: The City Manager has requested additional information on the HM job description. Specifically, how those hours for that position might be defined: Full time, Part time, or Full time seasonal with Part time off season.
