Reminder for 2023 Branch Lake Boating
To protect Branch Lake, Ellsworth’s drinking water supply from invasive plant species, a boat inspection must be completed before a craft can enter the water. Inspections are conducted at the City operated boat launch when a City Boat Inspector is present or by a Certified Self-Inspector.
All boats used on Branch Lake must have a valid Tag (sticker), undergone inspection, and been issued a permit. A tag may be obtained at City Hall or the City boat launch. A permit is issued by boat inspectors and attest that a boat inspection was conducted and that no plants or plant fragments were found.
Branch Lake dam is currently undergoing repairs and to accommodate the process the water level has been lowered by approximately two feet.
